All sorts of goods today! This house that I'm hunting is amazing! Dirt Digler pulled out some awesome stuff too. The best part? Got home and found out that my 1921 D merc was a key date! Couple semi key wheats too. 1910 s & 1913 s. The Token was a surprise. all the way from Lakeville IND to Idaho. Yup... Got it all on film too. I'm running behind on editing but I can tell you that I'm sitting on some amazing footage for upcoming episodes of Dirt Fishin America. Any ideas what that hand carved white stone ball is?

Looking forward to the video, nice job! , love all the buffalo's and the V, I have found the Ctx to be rock solid on hitting the nickels, did all of these give good vdi's?

I believe its a marble from the 1800s.

Wow! Great day for you guys. That's one heck of a yard. Could the white stone be an early marble to go along with the glass one.

Quack

Thanks guys. Yup, good TID's on all the nickels. Also good footage coming up of a hunt that dirt and I did were we pulled 19 silvers and 70 wheats. Can't wait to share it!

Nice finds!
Have a look at this one that sold last week. It to was a MDing find.

Wow! That had to be an amazing hunt. Very nice finds.

How did you clean the nickels? They look like they were cleaned well.

Awesome!

I cleaned the nicks up with a pencil eraser. It takes the red off but the green can be pretty stubborn. Just go over the raised stuff and leave the recessed parts a little darker for some contrast. I would mess with any key dates though. You know how those coin buffs can be about cleaning coins.

A pencil eraser!? Wow dude. I wouldn't have thunk it. For the green stuff try, boiling in olive oil. It works every time. After boiling in olive oil, the green stuff should be nothing but like a black residue that rubs right off. Coins come out good too. The red stuff seems to be my trouble. Also, note yourself that you should not get the olive oil to hot or it will reach a flash point where it will catch on fire. I just did this on the grill the other day with a large cent for the first time with my first large cent . Just get the oil hot enough where it is barely bubbling and that should be enough. It should take only like 10-20 minutes based on what I've seen. Maybe longer in extreme cases.

Edit: I just found a buffalo nickel while ago too and was wondering how to get the red rusty stuff off along with my other buffalos and V Nickels.

I think a combo of boiling and erasing might be the ticket?

Yeah I would say so. I'm just not to sure about the eraser thing yet because I haven't tried it. About how much scrubbing does it usually take?

Depends on the coin but generally speaking... A dog year
