I put the car in for servicing and left them to it with my trusty Eldorado U max broken down and in a carry bag, together with other necessary stuff. Went to the first area I'd planned to visit, an old park where the odd surprise still awaits: found $1x2,20c,10c x2, 5c and a Japanese 100 Yen, old and battered (the surprise). Then went to the next planned spot. It was an area near some sports fields that I hand't hit before and I was hoping that everyone else had overlooked it LOL. Well, it became apparent very quickly that others had been there, but my first find was a badge, very soon after I'd started, so I thought it was worth persevering for a while. Glad I did. because after finding a couple of coins I found a quite nice Nike 925silver ring. Total for that area was $2x4, $1x5, 50c x2, 20c, 5c,2c,1c. I was pretty happy with that. Not a bad way to spend time waiting for your vehicle. Looks like a nice haul. :beers:

I keep hoping the groups that lobby for the disabled groups in the USA will put enough pressure on representatives so that all the same size and feel 1 and 5 dollar bills get replaced with different sized and edge shaped coins like you have.

Nice hunting!

I agree, tvr. We (as well as the English and Canadians, and probably others) are lucky that we can find petrol and/or battery money without having to find hundreds of coins at a time. But, I really prefer to find a sixpence, threepence or shilling etc (which were replaced as currency in 1966) than a $1 or $2 coin. Our old pennies and halfpennies are usually too damaged or corroded when you find them to be of much interest or any value. However, to me, finding a silver coin is fantastic. (A gold one would be really out of this world). However, when I do find a $1 or $2 I dont push it back into the ground because its not exactly what I'd prefer. HH Sapper
