Day 2 - at pro-salt water spin

spin started out pretty good until camera had..........."Lens Error".

i got all depth pics, but no find pics. except 3 oz sinker i hit coming home. my 1st really deep target with the pro.......i was walking back briskly and got a hit at 56....strong, 3 scoops later there it is.

the little gold pendant is un-hearable after 4"...................10k ring is un-hearable after 6"...............gold set of fronts.............clear at 4", 6" and 8"......ALL USING MAX SENSITIVITY

Pro Mode..........sensitivity max...........ground balance: 13 - i did not manually decrease to 0 today, saw little or no difference.

i did re-test all the targets today that were found with max sensitivity...............i lowered bar by bar and all were detectable at 3 bars in pro mode....................

no pics, but i did some iron testing with a penny and big iron bulkhead bolt:...........worked pretty darn Great
.
.
In Illustration 2, the same iron nail is laying above a good coin target. Since
the Iron discrimination level is set to 25, the nail by itself would not be
detected; however, the two objects have a combined conductivity of more
than 25.
Therefore, the good target is detected due to the combined conductivity
being higher than that of the discriminated target (nail) alone

more on sat.............weather permitting

The gold ring undetectable at 6+ inches is certainly less than I would expect after watching the company video. A little disappointing actually. I keep watching.

That depth does not sound good to what i saw also......... But then the higher frequency that you run means less depth .......... So then the At Pro should get less depth than the 1500 & 2500 am i right or wrong ???

Generally, machines running at this frequency will seperate targets very well , but are not depth monsters ....... My thoughts are that it will be a wonderful Relic machine that you can go in the water with especially with the highly discrimitive iron range .....Nothing wrong with that ....Jim

Hi Max

It's not a bad unit at all, is it. From my little bit of testing, it will hold it's own against any, and all.

I see some gripping about "frequency" and depth, but in reality it has more to do with circuit design. Everything after that is secondary. I have found it to be quite sensitive to gold, & gold jewelry. My test nugget is a 5 grain pea on a wooden stick. At full tilt, between 4" to 5" depending on what max setting I used. The dedicated nugget detectors don't do any better. My wedding band tested at over 12" deep, Depth on gold jewelry has as much to do with the gold alloy makeup, cross section density, and physical size.

I'll get some more usage in today if the temp. gets a little higher, and it stays dry. 36 deg. right now. Brrr. that's certainly nasty cold when your detecting around the ocean.

My quick opinion is I doubt there will much disappointment with the AT Pro. It's a good unit & the price is right.

Awesome Max-thanks for posting that report! Now when you mention targets being 'undetectable' at x depth, do you mean in the ground or air testing after you got them out of the sand?

like i said the other day, i do not really put much stock in these types of tests.............fresh dug holes......etc.

driver, i did test the tiny gold pendant and thin 10k ring this morning..........air test............

about 6 or 7 inches on pendant and well over a foot on gold ring.............F Y I

i think this heater is will be just fine in the wet and waters of virgina beach for sure or that now.

depth...............i feel it will hold its own with most, but i am hoping for that little high frequency edge i will get with it now.......my reason for the G2 and this At Pro.

today i am meeting up with two fellow hunters here for low tide.............GT guy and new SePro guy, i will have some down to earth results later today on D E P T H.

good luck..............and.......omg.......stay warm up there.

Well, i dont really care about depth, i bought PRO for summer time when i need more speed than depth!
6" is OK for summer as soon as i run faster then my minlab friends.
Max thanks for testing!!!
