Was out at one of the old parks in my area that I had worked many times with out much luck with my old explorer. Run into a fellow with an explorer and we talked for awhile then proceded to hunt togeather. I saw him dig a number of coins from around ten inches deep and asked if he would let me try his detector to see if it had been me or my detector that couldn't find coins below six inches. He even let me set it up with my old settings which were similar to his, that is when I found the quarter at 11 inches and the dime at 8.5 inches. He told me it was for sale for 500 dollars as he wanted to get a new explorer 2. Before we finished hunting I bought it and ended up finding 2 wheaties at 8 to 9 inches deep. His unit was less than a year old so I got a very good deal, and am exceptionally happy with it. It is really amazing the difference in the two units. My two friends are looking for a couple of used units also. They compared theirs to mine with the same settings and were amazed at the difference in the three units. Don't know why ours didn't work as they should, maybe Kellyco, they were all three bought within two weeks of each other from kellyco, and we have all had the same problem with them. That is why we got soured on them but this new unit shows that the explorer is all that was said it was. My 2 friends have both tried my new unit and are happy enough to give it another try also. Crazy things happen with detectors, just like cars. Hope no one else runs into the same problem but maybe this will bring it to light if they do. At least then maybe we can find a fix and keep people like me from losing it ha ha.
