FYI-
This appears to be a web site by Dave Johnson:
http://www.copperculture.homestead.com/

This is according to a post by DJ here:

this is quite interesting to me, a few local guys have found spear points and awls here in Menominee,Mi about 40 miles from Oconto mentioned in the article, i read that site and two others dated back to 7000 years. a book called Michigan's Prehistory's Mysteries was extremely interesting reading, talking of the other cultures with the Indians mining the copper, with small pieces of evidence made it seam quite possible. however Ive yet to find my first copper artifact

Dave's home is (or at least it was until recently) in Prescott, Az. Not exactly prime copper artifact country. Unless you live and hunt a lot in the Wisconsin/Upper Michigan area you are not likely to find ANY copper culture artifacts. I live in the lower peninsula of Michigan and have found one awl.

The Hassayampa runs through quaint (still?) Prescott, Az, and legend has it once you've drank from it, you'll never again tell the truth.

The email listed on the site on the top of this thread indicates this 'David B. Johnson' is the City Coordinator of Valley City, North Dakota.

The 2000 census ranked the four most-common surnames in the US as: Smith, Johnson, Williams and Jones (in that order).

I have sent and received emails from both "Dave Johnsons" in the past and they are NOT the same person.

First, read the list of posts for Dave Johnson that I posted above. If what you say is true, there are 2 people who go by the same name on this forum who both claim to have designed detectors for Fisher, etc.

I doubt that's the case.

In the Spiro Mounds area of East Central Oklahoma. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) :)

This article, listing author as a "David E. Johnson", basically says "I designed the MXT" and it even ends signed with a "D.E.J.": http://www.whiteselectronics.net/dealer/tech_report_mxt.htm

Am assuming this picture of a "Dave Johnson" on T2 literature would be the same DEJ: http://www.tekneticst2.com/PDFs/Davids_interview.pdf

The "copper culture" website has an email address pointing to the "David B. Johnson" found here: http://www.hellovalley.com/valleycity/index2.asp?pageID=2010&pagetype=1 and here: http://northdakota.apwa.net/leadership.asp?sec=memdetail&ID=58072JOHND&TYPE=05

I have no idea which, or how many of the estimated 40 million Dave Johnson's living in the US, are actually posting on these forums. Ok, maybe there aren't that many ;) But it does appear our copper culture guy (DBJ) is not our hallowed T2 creator (DEJ).

Perusing the posts here by "Dave Johnson" shows a bunch of techie posts no doubt by the detector designer Dave Johnson. Those end in mid-2003. The first post by this Dave Johnson 2 1/2 years later would be a different DJ who assumed the name after the original account expired (is my guess).

I rest my case! (and wonder under what monicker DEJ wanders these forums...)
