Dating Flat Button

Found this button on an archeological dig in Colonial Heights VA, understand that this most likely dates to after1800, looking to further identify origin, manufacturer, approximate date if possible.

Sorry, if it didn't come on a Wal Mart shirt I can't date it.

Can't help on button but am curious where the dig is. My in laws lived there my wife and I lived there a year or so then moved into chesterfield co. Now we live in Bedford co. There were a lot of places in area worthy of a dig,Lees headquarters ,Fort Clifton etc. I use to hangout at Wayne Aldridge's detector shop we may have crossed paths.

there are button books where you can compare yours with pictures. they use the name on the back of your button to date them. certain makers will be listed with dates that they were in business. do a google search on button books and you should be able to find were to buy one.
