From the land of the Bluenose......still feeling the affects of Hurricane Bud I dragged myself out of bed and decided to hit the ballfield near the Dartmouth Watershed. Of course that would take gas and it was the day before payday. Thought I had a 10 spot tucked away in my perpetually empty wallet but that was gone..um........thinks the honey bunny had been into it. Well clad to the rescue so it was off to my least favourite money gobbling gas station; Irving not to mention any names where the clerk looked none to happy at the $10 in dirty clad. What the halibut I had already pumped the gas. Must say the Tim Horton's girl had no trouble with my change and I left her a whopping 50 cent tip!
Hit the ball field with the wind a howling and began to fullfill my 50 coin day. Around 35 coins into it I decided to take a trail back behind the field that eventually comes to a lake once you cross the highway. Had hunted here many a times in the past with a few goodies coming my way. First target here was a Vickie 1874 quarter that I left my mark on digging it up. Was livid with myself at that one for being so careless. Next hole was a heart shaped dewy that might have been a brooch at one time. Nothing more on the trail save for a few modern pennies so I packed up and stopped at the Village Green to round of my 50 coin day. Here I picked up a modern 5 cent. Holland coin as best as I can figure.
Arriving home there was a surprise in my bed.....the hunny bunny was home sick from work with a cold. To the rescue as I'm cooking up the cure as I type...homemade chicken soup. That will cure her or make her sicker!
Anyway 50 coins at $2.43 and the above mentioned.
