it is 1am and I can't sleep, my girls are at the sitters and I am borred, I wanted to go out for a while and detect but my detector does'nt have a place for earphones so I would be annoying people.

What brand/model detector do you have? Most of them have headphone jacks so I am just wondering.
Hope you get to search that nearby yard you have been looking at. You could also take your kids to the play park and detect there, while they play, kill 2 birds with one stone.
