Dang...Why didn't I ever learn to swim!

flail around like an idiot there ya go you can swim now.

haha

Most people can take a full breath of air & they'll pretty much float...a kick here & there along with your hands making back & forth motion while directing the force of the water towards the bottom will keep you up pretty easy... once you can get the basics, you'll wonder what took you so long.

Yeah, you should probably learn..everybody should, it may come in handy someday for yourself or somebody else. My Wife did not learn how until she was in her mid 40's, shes now a cert diver, been wreck and night diving and all of that...really opened up a whole new world for her, and it will for you too. Tomtowns is right, in a day you'll be swimming, and wondering whats the big deal?

I did try several years back. I went out in a wading pool
and the teacher had me just lay on my back with his arms under me holding
me up. I didn't sink but my body had tendency to want to roll me face down.
I swear, I was so scared of the water my face so full of tension, the muscles
were like hard rock. Took a few minutes of massaging the face to get the
muscles to relax. That was my first and last attempt.
