I finished off a sports field today, which I started yesterday, and wanted to finish it today. The Canadian nickels, dimes and quarters just bark at you through the headsets, bouncing around the 40's to the 80's. A lot of them were down 2-3 inches, and had rust spots on them. I guess that's what happens when the nickel plate wears off and exposes the steel underneath. I prefer the concentric coil, as it ID's our clad more accurately as clad and doesn't read the bottle caps as a coin in many instances. I haven't really noticed any loss of depth neither, in my low to moderate mineralized soil.
