It snowed, and I did my first snow hunt today. Very comfortable....a few degrees below zero. Had to wipe the snow off the screen of the AT Gold every so often, but it's water proof, snow proof and also cold proof. But.....I feel sorry for the poor fellow who is tenting it. The valleys in Edmonton may be rent-free for sleeping, but "YIKES".... when that minus 30 shows up, better dress warm!

Ha! My first coin, which ended up being my oldest, which was in the 1970's. Oh well, it's always about the hunt, not necessarily what you find. :)

I did manage to get some interesting finds....not to mention some great fresh air and some exercise.

Here's the finds cleaned up with a little more information about them. The REM-UMC 12 gauge shotgun shell dates From 1911 to 1934.

Huh. I didn't know those shotgun shells were that old. I found a bunch here...
What's the coldest temp you've hunted in?

Also you have some snow on your beard... ;-)

A little frostbite weather doesn't slow some people down at all. Almost skiin' weather, whiskiin' that is.

I seriously can not think of one thing that would get me out in that cold by choice. I like metal detecting, but not that much. It would have to be a very serious possible cache at hand, or a hot babe. Otherwise...have fun in the cold without me. martin

Dude, you are hard-core. You make me want to go out during this hurricane.

This may be a slight addiction, but I can think of much worse addictions.
Some things I only have to do once to know I never will attempt the act
a second time. I went camping with my middle son and woke up to 28
degrees, yeah I'm all set there too... God Bless!

Congrats on your dedication.
Once my hands freeze with gloves on that's toast for me.:sadwalk:

That is awesome...I went this morning before the winds/rains from the hurricane hit us...It was blowing and raining pretty hard for a while....Never lost power yet...

HH,

It was 82 degrees and snowing skitters in my neck of the woods John. When I heard them discussing whether to eat me where I was or take me home, I headed for the house.
You are a dedicated member, my hats off to you.
