Dang Blasted Ticks...in January

I was out detecting in the woods today for 6 hr. and have never seen so many ticks. I was stopping constantly to take ticks off of me. I picked 28 of those blood sucking critters off my cloths. Usually when I go out in warm weather I spray insect repellent with Deet on my clothing, but didn't think I would need it in January. The weird part about it is that I was in the same area 3 weeks ago but only had 2 ticks on me then because it was colder. I hate to think about how bad it's going to be this spring when the weather does get warmer

Eeeeee....gives me the willies. Gosh, Im 46 and never had a tick on me. (Knock on wood) What part of the world are you from?

Northern Pennsylvania. I've got them in my back yard too. I spent most my time today along a creek. I don't know why but it seems like there are more ticks in the low lying areas then on top of the hills.

i have accounted many ticks in my military service they tend to like the low lying damp areas thats also the areas on the body you will tend to find them.
