I have started detecting in digital mode on my SE and every time I see 03-28 or 03-29 I start thinking dime possibly merc or barber and I am consistently pulling up pennys all of which were from the late 1970's... I was also wondering if you guys dig all 11-02,03 signals as it seems these are typically tin foil signals but also fit gold rings..

Have EX2 and I dig all 03-04-26-29 and for the most part they are dimes. I have found that digital can vary quite a bit depending on depth, wear etc On the ring readings I dig pretty much all depending where I am and the tone

Yeah I'm seeing the same thing with the SE, the earlier pennies just have more copper and sound and hit this way for the most part.
Yeah, you need to dig those 11-02, 11-03 foil sounds too unless you just want to chance leaving a gold band behind.
I've been digging everything that sounds tight, round and clean on the wierd numbers and have been pleasantly surprised a time or two.

Don't want to start anything...This is just my Opion....:bouncy:
But don't look at the screen the tones speak for themselves.....

I dig everything....The size and shape of jewelry are endless...

Do you ever say to your self, "Should I have dug that last signal?"
Leave the area quit when you leave, and that thought won't ever cross your mind...

Remember a Mens gold band is 7 -25 but so is a fishing weight, screw off cap and penny....So dig em all!!!

Also Do you dig many nickles?

I have had the SE now for about a week and i havent dug any nickels... ive been pretty much looking for ferrous signals starting with 00,01,02,03... ive been avoiding any 05,06,07 because i know these are typical screw cap or memorial penny signals.. I know i need to expand what i except as "diggable" signals and just be prepared to dig more junk.

Greetings, sgtm8411. I will not hesitate to dig a 03-28, 29. It is in the silver range for a dime. Usually if it is a penny, I pull up a wheetie, or copper Lincoln. for the zinc 07-25, 26 is usually the range they fall for me. Could it be the geographic differences, Florida? You could check the depth indicator, the shallow ones could probably be new dropped zincs. Happy Hunting Grounds,

Savage. (EX-II)

There is also allot of cool tokens that can land about anywhere and foreign coins that you'll never figure out how they got there but they are. So don't get in a rut and say I'm not digging them darn anythings, cause you'll sell yourself short. On my SE, nickels hit sloppy, like the entire bottom right quarter of the screen, especially Buffalo's. They can land left of foil all the way through foil and right into old screw caps, And all three readings; I'm getting from the same nickel with no trash around, I think it's because of my soil, cause when I get it out of the ground, it hits constant in the same spot, over and over.
