damage to t2

baz

New member
Hi there, i was wondering if anybody could give advice for my t2, one of raised plastic pieces with hole for fixing search head to stem of my t2 came off in my hand, this
piece is part of search coil not seperate so i am not sure if glueing would work. Has anybody had similar problems with same piece?. Also would i be able to purchase new coil from states and
what sort of price are they. I detect in uk. Many thanks baz

contact the factory in Texas and see if they can assist you. How old is your unit . . . . . you may get some relief under warranty.

You can purchase a replacement coil either from the States or locally in the UK. Regton (www.regton.com) carries Teknetics and should have a coil available.

Hope this helps

Andy

If you have to buy a new coil the get a 12x10 SEF one its better than the standard coil I use one all the time found these yesterday with one plus a few smaller Roman and a fragment of bracelet

The first T2's were sold in 2006, I believe, so all of them should still be under warranty, unless you are not the original owner. The warranty is non-transferable.

I've heard of some folks have very good success with Weld-On #10. It actually dissolves the plastic and then as it evaporates the plastic hardens again so the plastic actually becomes soft enough to bond together again.

Try loctite for plastic. The package has to parts in it a marker like pen and a tube of glue. It works great ! I've used it on a lot of plastic and it holds strong.
Don't think you'll have another problem with the coil. You can buy it at Walmart, Lowes, Homdepot and some hardware stores.

Many thanks for helpfull advice, at the moment my t2 is being fixed, my dog trod on screen and cracked
screen?circut board inside, am not covered by insurance, hopefully will not be too expensive.
Unfortunately seems to be a delay of parts too uk.
Has any body else tried a sef 10x12 coil. cheers baz
