Dad's Christmas present for his CZ6

Just got this from Fleabay for dad's CZ6....He's been using the stock 8" coil for a long time, but there are places we hunt that he could benefit from either the larger or smaller coils!

Hope those searchcoils have the right connectors.

Original CZ6 had a waterproof industrial searchcoil connector. We thrashed the heck out of those connectors in the lab and in field testing and were quite surprised when production units started to come back from customers in just a few months. With the CZ6A we went back to the time-proven (but not waterproof) Switchcraft Slimline connectors which are still used on the legacy Fisher machines.

Back in the bad old days, you could send a CZ6 back to the factory and they could convert it to the Switchcraft connector. I don't know if we still have the parts to do that. Searchcoils with the old industrial connector can be converted to Switchcraft, but not vice versa.

If the searchcoils don't mate up to the unit (i.e. wrong connectors), call the factory 915 633-8354 and ask to speak with Daniel for advice, he knows more about this issue than anyone else in the factory.

NOTE: any of y'all out there who are still swinging CZ6's with the industrial connector, use it only on-handle, don't hipmount. The flexing from hipmounting is what kills 'em.

You are a good kid CZ! I bet your Dad thinks so too.:beers:..Its also really comforting to know Dave J keeps an eye on our Forums and has our backs too!:clapping:

I watched that closely. Good deal. If I had not just bought a new 10.5 and already had a 5 I would have given you a run for them! Nice to know they went to a good home.
