D2 coil and MX5 great combination!

I received a brand new D2 coil from Whites due to my previous one having the dreaded shield issue. I urge anyone who has a D2 that is falsing to send it to Whites, They replaced mine no questions asked! I posted more about this on the feedback forum. So I got out today for a few hours at a cellar hole I have searched many times to give the coil and my MX5 a run. The new D2 coil was so stable compared to my faulty one, like night and day. What really surprised me was that this combination separated amazingly in this trashy site. I was able to sort out good signals from iron by simply swinging very slow. Yes there is a purpose for a smaller coil but today I saw no need! I found 3 small cuff buttons, a buckle, a 1935 Wheat cent and some misc. junk that rang in above iron. I must say I was impressed! I searched the old tote road that leads into the property in the woods, this has proved to be nothing short of aggravating with other brands I have owned. I was able to run high sense. and 8 tone. This proved successful as the higher tones popped out of the iron lows. I notched out nothing, ( all metal) yes its noisy but when you hear that mid-high tone amongst the junk tones your ears perk right up! I have a new confidence now as this detector seems to impress me more and more! My advice is slow slow slow it down! be patient use your ears. When you hear a good tone look at you ID and Hone in on the target. Using this method I was able to cherry pick with a 10 inch coil!:whites:

You have a great combination there with MX5 and the D2. I run the WSS SEF 5x10 most of the time on my MX5 and MXT. seems the 6x10 dd is also a great performer for the MX platform. You are correct the dd does seem to seperate better in my soil where I live than the stock coil.
