D2 coil 10"

Pro's & cons vs 6 x 10 whites and sef 8x6 & 10x12. Am looking hard at the SEF 8x6 and 6x10 for trash separation over the stock 950 but the D2 10in and sef 10x12 have caught my eye. Used primarily as a coinshooter in older sites. Already have the 4x6 dd shooter.

Watched an etrac with stock coil work today and would like approximate it....coil that is.

The SEF 10X12 is your best choice for depth in mineralized ground and the 950 is best for mild ground conditions. You didn't say where you are from or ground conditions.........

Central Oklahoma. Ground reads around 63 here. Am a coinshooter primarily and most sites have trash galore but the old stuff is generally around 5-6 inches deep.

Any of the coils mentioned will get the job done at 5-6 inches, but the 10X12 SEF is one of my favorites getting depths of 10 to 11 inches in the right conditions. In trahsy ground, the White's 5.3 and 6X8 SEF will still get good depth with separation. IMHO

If you are anywhere close to the Tulsa area I'll let you have a test run with the D2 or the 6x10.
I recently purchased the PRO and went with the D2 got about 20hrs on it now and like it for the coverage, separation is nearly as good as the 4x6 in my humble opinion.I like my 6x10 also but to me it seems nearly as heavy as the 300mm(12'').Maybe a mind thing!

Thanks for the advice. There are deeper targets here than 5-6 in....given what coils I have think I'll spill for the 10x12 SEF & maybe get the 6X8 later.

i was wondering about the weight of the D2. does it weigh as much as the 950?

HH

Is the d2 10 inch the one that comes on the Spectra v3i? I was thinking about that one myself
