D-Tex Coin King

Kapok

Blast from the past. I had one of these in 1981 and I really liked it and found a lot of coins with it. I remember it had a tuner so you could change the tone of the signal high or low, which I really liked.

Anyone else have a D-Tex in their past?

You can find old brochures here. Pretty cool site if you're nostalgic about detectors.

Frank Ball built the best shielded coils on the market. You could walk under a high tension power line and it was not bothered with any EMI. iF i remember
correctly they were not built frequency specific. Do you remember reverse discrimination?

...The Coin King had a big following for a long period of time....in fact many of the Garrett Groundhog users either switched or got a 15 KHZ search coil to use on their GroundHog....this kinda pissed off Charles Garrett who changed out his detectors to a 5 pin connector so they could Not do this!!.....Joe
