Cz's vs The Edge

I now use (not simultaneously) 2 CZ-5's and a CZ-3D--why would I want or need to buy an Edge?

Hopefully there are some folks able to get out this time of year that are willing to make some direct in field comparisons of the new Edge to the CZ's.

and if your happy with them and they do the job, then I ask you, why would you need or want an ID edge? Other then just want to try something new. Also if you flip the switch on the CZ3d from Enhanced to Salt mode you will have 3 CZ5's.

Man, I wish Fisher would have done the 3-D with three disc. modes, especially knowing they were gonna discontinue the 5.

Yep, enhanced, normal, and salt would have been perfect.

If they keep the 3-D around, (and I'd bet they do) that should be a simple and welcome addition to the next version.

One of the excuses that Fisher gave me for discontinuing the CZ5 was the parts availability. They are still producing the CZ3D, and there can't be too many different parts between that and the CZ5. Doesn't seem to compute.

Fisher may have brought out the CZ3D just to test the market for the enhancement concept useing on hand parts and production facilities.The Edge offers a wider range of enhancement modes at a cheaper price than the CZ3D so I can`t see the last CZ staying with us long.I have to admit,however, that it gives analog detector fans one last chance to buy a new one with a lifetime warranty!
