CZs should be standard equipment for LTD users.

Got out tonight to a heavily hit area with my LTD. I hunted for an hour or more and dug a lot of iffy targets and got nothing of real interest.
I didn't want to quit without finding something so I went to the other end of town and hit an empty lot where an old house once stood. I decided to switch to the CZ3d for a change at this new place. It probably wasn't the smart thing to do, since tall grass would have made the bp work for me. I dug one of the Sunoco car tokens of the 60's and then about the time it got dark I got a good repeatable signal and dug a nice 1902 Indian. It has the nicest patina of any Indiana I have ever dug. I will try to get a photo and post later. I was scrubbing the coil in the tall grass and the Indian was a good 7 or 8 inches deep.
I know the LTD would have hit the Indian too, but I was just in the mood for a different kind of hunting. I really like using both detectors and I sometimes work and area with one and then come back over it with the other. There is something nice about the CZ and the near quiet you enjoy until you get a good tone. I don't pay much attention to the meter, so all in all it is a pretty relaxing machine.

Well, I did say it was almost dark when I found the Indiana Head, but I remembered it being a 1902 and not a 1903. I rinsed it off in the sink but you can still see the awesome green tone that this one had coming out of the ground. I was afraid to do much cleaning on it for fear I would lose the green. From the looks of the dirt, I am going to have to clean it up a little anyway.

I've found that using both my F75 LTD and my CZ70 to cover the same site is resulting in one machine finding stuff the other missed (both ways). Having both the LTD and the CZ70 seems to be the perfect combination, plus the CZ70 is also a great salt water beach hunter, so all bases are covered

Congrats in the IH, she's a beauty :clapping:

I also find that you can stir up another round of coins by switching one of them or both to the small coils and going over them again.
I have always used the 6.5 on the F75 because I like how it slips down into the hole to help pinpoint. I guess we keep hunting with it
and we will learn some of the tricks.

Nice Indian!

I have both too, but don't know that I'd say it should be a standard set of equipment to have both. As Cal_Cobra says about hunting the salt water beach with the CZ ... that pair does cover the bases well.

I just really enjoy the sanity time away from the busy world of the LTD once in a while. Maybe, I am lazy, but once in a while I want to concentrate less and still dig some good stuff. I really want to try the CZ on the beach some day. I guess my saying would be, "a bad day on the beach is better than a good day at work".

Don you have my sentiments about the CZ70 exactly right. Every once and a while I like a nice quite ride, no having to listen to an out of tune orchestra of noise and try to decipher a jumble of numbers to decide if I want to dig or not, just a simple, quite, peaceful, enjoyable search, and that's what the CZ70 provides, while still getting depth on par with the LTD.

It's a shame they were never able to make a DD coil for the CZ line, but that a whole can of worms for another thread
