I've had a 3d, 6 and a 21 in the past but my (new to me) 7a pro doesn't seem to GB. My others I always ran at a setting of 10 on the salt but could gb on the dry. I've tried both methods and get no change in tone. Any suggestions??
It seemed ok with autotune and sens maxed out. Still will not gb with the pinpoint method. I appreciate the help. Will be on a beach hunt Wednesday so I'll see how it works. HH
If the sand is inert, (lacking in minerals) the cz won't ground balance on a number. Florida's beaches are inert and I can't gb there. On the 3d, I set it at 10. The cz's get amazing depth in inert wet salt sand.
My 3d is deepest in disc...some may be deeper in autotune. You should test to find out. Don't forget to max out the sens when in autotune...for the test. My 3d's sens is highest at 5...after that it just gets louder, not deeper.
Volume and sens. at max using the bobbing method are recommended....for sure on some saltwater beaches they just won't ground balance..Might experiment with different balance number to see what works best or set the unit slightly negative...Each day on the beach may prove different depending on what the waves are bringing in..
I'll be at the beach tomorrow and try the bobbing method. When I had the 3d it often wouldn't gb on the beach but always could on land with the pinpoint method. I guess I'll stick primarily to the bobbing method with this one.
Went on a beach hunt this morning and it GB ok with the bobbing method. Hunted in AT and it did fine until I would check a target in ID. It kept falsing. IDK?? Also would get a target in AT and it would not make a sound it ID or pinpoint. I suspect that to be deep iron??
