If you feel the CZ70 is the best detector FOR YOU, then there you have it.
Me...I never used a CZ70, but have 2 CZ6a's and I think they are the best detector FOR ME. I also have a CZ3D that is an outstanding unit, but still use my 6a more. One of the main reasons is I hunt salt water beaches a lot. Since the 6a does not have a speaker, it is more water resistant and I can rinse the unit off under running water with less worries.
I like the analog platform, prefer knobs and the ability to fine tune the sensitivity. Therefore, I prefer the 6a over the 70. But it's just user preference...nothing to do with which one can get an extra 1/2 inch depth or 4 vs 3 tones.
One thing I do know...in testing the 3D in both air and comparing in ground targets, the CZ3D id's some gold rings and older nickels as high tone, where on the 6a, they are mid tone. It also, however, id's some aluminum as high tone in enhanced mode, but that has been discussed before on this and other forums so that is not new. I do like the 4th tone compared to my 6a. Since I have my 6a mounted on a straight shaft and under my arm, I can't see the meter so I hunt by tone. There is a separate tone for foil on the 3D where as on my 6a, foil and both kinds of pull tabs id as mid tone.
If you like the notching, digital response and other features of the CZ70 and they suit your detecting needs, then the CZ70 is #1 in your book and that's all that matters. As long as you are having fun with the machine, then you are good to go.
I would say if you are into older coin hunting and have sites where there isn't much aluminum trash like can slaw and pull tabs, the 3D in enhanced mode will pull out some sleepers.
