CZ70 PRO/ CZ70 ?

Mike T

Member
Is there a difference between the two? I've seen detectors with just CZ70, and I've seen the other?
Also will a CZ6 mount on a CZ70 Rod?
And would a CZ70 work better in mineralized ground than a Coinstrike?
Thanks, MikeT

Wish I could help you Mike. I own the cz 70 Pro and enjoy it very much. I have a salt mode, but it still gives me a fit when I hit the heavy dark stuff. I think there is a cz 70 A out there somewhere. The Pro may be the up-dated of the two. Sorry I cannot help with your ?.

Reply... The CZ 70 and the CZ 70 Pro are both the same machine.
Some people just tend to leave out the word "pro" when refering to a CZ 70 Pro

Reply... NO, neither will a CZ6a, CZ5 or a CZ3d

The Coinstrike with its auto ground tracking is suppose to do better than the CZ 70 in mineralized soil. Both detectors go very deep and it is a toss-up as to which goes deeper.
In a heads up test I would put my $$$$$ on the CZ-70 Pro however.
The CZ 70 Pro would also beat out a CZ3d in a depth contest should one ever take place. :)

If you are going to hunt around power lines and hunt in big cities where there is alot of electrical interference then the Coin Strike is a very poor choice for a detector as it is easily effected by EI.

On the other hand Fisher CZ's are not effected much at all by EI and make for an excellent coin machine around power lines and in cities.

I've never seen you post here before, Steve. Glad to see you're still alive!

So even though the CZ-3 and CZ-70 are both CZ's, you say the '70 is deeper?

Cheers!

Yes the CZ-70 Pro goes about an inch deeper than those analog CZ's. i.e. CZ-20, CZ-6a, CZ-3d etc.

Good to see you're still around John

This was when I lived up in Jackson, MI. Powerlines overhead on practically ALL streets. If I got within 50' of them, my CZ would start falsing. I taught myself to detect in this noisy environment anyway, and made some killer finds.

Now that I'm back in Tulsa, OK, I haven't really had a chance to get out much into a "real-world" hunting environment. I'm hoping to do that soon, though.

I've also experienced RFI falsing near power transformers. Those can get really bad.

I have used cz for 11 yrs. Fisher made a cz 6, cz 6A,cz 5 ,cz 7, cz7a pro., cz70 , cz 3d and a cz 20 and all were good, but I thank it is going down hill. I have a cz 5, cz 3d, cz70, and a cz20 with a 5" coil and like them all.

My experience on depth with these detectors in the actual field. The CZ3 and CZ5 will match or surpass the CZ70.The sensitivity can't run high enough on the CZ70 take advantage of the extra depth potential.:yikes:The stability is better with the CZ5 and CZ3 when the sensitivity is at a higher setting.
