cz70 pro and 10 1/2" coil

i took my cz70 with the 10 1/2" coil to an old park today to see if any older deeper coins might show up. the park has a good amount of trash in some areas and other areas are pretty clean. in one part of the park is a ball diamond for little league. in the outfield near a tree i have found silver coins and indian head pennies before, so i headed to that tree to hunt. found the usual clad coins and new pennies and then got a sweet sounding high tone that read deep on the meter. after cutting a deep plug and pulling out several handfuls of dirt i saw the edge of a silver coin at about 9 inches deep. i was thinking barber or seated dime but it was a 1920 s mercury dime. this old park covers at least 30 acres and has lots of huge old oak trees with 2 old gazeebos in the middle of the park. there used to be concerts in the park in the 1800's and thousands of people showed up according to old newspaper stories. there should be some deep old coins there but it seems the groundskeepers would rather mulch aluminum cans with their mowers than stop and pick them up.
i was impressed with the depth the cz was getting with the 10 1/2" coil...i dug a couple of old square nails at close to 10" deep and some type of clock key at almost the same depth. enjoyable day in the park dirt fishin'.........roger

Biggest pro is coverage and biggest con its heavy and most bodymount...Think about it if a 20's coin was that deep how deep must the coins be of the early years of the park.
In any case glad you are doing well and certainly if you get an iffie that indicates 10 inches in depth go for it...As far as can slaw part of the hobby as every park has its share...
