cz70 and Iron

A

I purchased a cz70 in Feb. this decision was made
thanks to everyone's input,I really like it a lot
compared to the Garrett gtax750 I had. I noticed
that if I get a high tone using a slow sweep in
a x pattern and pinpoint, thinking it is a coin then
pat the ground with the coil I will get a low tone
iron and sure enough digging it up it is iron, just
wondering if anyone has noticed this going from a
high tone to a low tone on a target by patting the
ground with the coil?

I have noticed have some peculiar type of signals as you mention. Also manipulating the coil various ways to try and analyze the target. what I have found that the cz usually tells the truth over a definite target but some of those higher or different tones I get are false tones and when I reduce the senstivity a little I don't have to do so much with the coil other then a normal slow swing over the ground.
I believe the coil may be hitting over some minerals or something in the ground matrix but doing the drop down over the target if there is actually one there will give a good signal if the pinpoint over the target is correct. I can only theorize on the situation but as you know your cz you get to a point where you start to learn the cz and its language .
You can only do that as your are doing and thats by digging up targets to do the check out. I don't have to much trouble with my cz70Pro and false iron signals either.

Gee learn something new each day about a CZ. CZ's take some getting used to rel those deep pesky rusty nails that come in as a coin..My way of telling is if the pinpoint seems to move, target seems big compared to small area of a coin or if the target won't repeat from at least two directions its usually iron. Have to try your method and forgot to mention after years of CZ hunting it usually sounds a little different to a trained ear..Thanks for sharing and you may have found another way. Yep gotta try it, next time out..
