CZ6A

Got hold of a cz6 a almost called mint condition. also the 10.5 and 5 inch coil with ower rods. It will air test a clad dime at around 11 inches with sensitivity on 5. Think I should sell the E-trac as I really do not hunt that much anymore.. How do the 2 compare for coinhunting

I would say that if you aren't hunting as much as you used to, the CZ6a with all the coils you have would be enough. I use my E-Trac for a lot of trashy park hunting and use the small Sunray X-5 coil 90% of the time on it. The E-Trac is a great unit, but if you got a sweet CZ6a, it will do just fine coin hunting.

In my opinion, the E-Trac will do better in iron infested areas and the ID accuracy is better at depth. It has a lot of other features too, but the 6a is so simple to use.

Bottom line is, what is the most comfortable unit for you to use. Can't go wrong with either unit.

If I were you Sonny I would still keep my E-trac as it is too awesome of a machine to let go. I have a CZ-3D and the E-trac. And when I find something good with the CZ-3D I think to myself I don't need the E-trac I should sell it then I take it out and get that sweet silver Minelab warble and dig an awesome silver coin and say to myself no way!

The Etrac is a great machine and has the flexability that a lot of other units do not have. I , like you, was able to pickup a CZ6a at a good price. The Owner purchased it new in 1991. He took very good care of the unit and when the weight was too much for him , he decided to sell it. Before he put it up for sale he sent it to Fisher for a tuneup. I like the machine so much, it is my favorite machine. The 5" coil is great for coin hunting even in iron. the depth for such an old machine is fantastic. I purchased a 8" coil and it should arrive next week. I have found that the 10.5" coil is a little heavy. My first find was with the 5" coil in a park.
when pinpointing it showed that the depth was over 8", which is the max on the display meter. It was a 1950 wheatie at almost 9". Unheard of for a 5" coil. Just as a note, I have a Etrac, T2SE, XP Deus and several older machines. But the CZ6a is my new (old) favorite. I like it so much, I am thinking of giving her a name, so I can talk to her when we are out.....lol

thanks Gary, I go out with it about every day. I did pickup a 8" coil to go along with the other two I have.
