Still not over the love for deep/bent nails...And the 8" coil is parked because the 5" just makes it easier to understand what my new to me machine is telling me.
But what it does very well for me is find smaller targets at impressive depths. Today I worked a very iron infested park-lots of square nails so I was almost dreading the high coin signals that would most always be a deep rusty nail. But the 5" is a lot more accurate for me at least & I was getting a good handle on the deeper mid range targets. Lots of shells from civilian & pre war training.
Had a questionable character pull between my vintage VW bus & a truck somebody parked with a window down. He was almost certainly checking it out when I made myself obvious. Then started a 1 hour kabuki of me detecting nearby while he did all sorts of odd things hoping I would go away. In doing so I was forced to detect the very front picnic bench area. I had avoided it as to easy pickins-certain to have been cleaned out. And modern trash from the picnic area. But I started finding a few old ring tabs & then 2 transitional tabs. Hmmm-guess the spot may not have been hit that hard after all...
So the next signal was a high coin-solid-very tight signal-only a short sweep picked it out. Dug & saw the 2nd Indian Head I have ever dug-and it is in gorgeous condition. Doggie gets a snack of course & I had to silently thank the creep who forced me to detect the area. Soon he left his car & disappeared into the rivers bush line-whatever. Then the truck owner came back & left. Being out of things to watch I left also...
Kinda wonder if the truck with the window down had been a bait car. Sorry if I spoiled the plan but I'm always worried about a break in when at a park & this dude was waaay off.
but thanks for the nice coin.
In total the CZ6(a) has been an eye opener this week. A tiny 14k ring at an honest 5", a skeleton key & the small cross tested @ 10K was found at 3"...All from an area pounded with my Tesoro's, Sovereign, AT Pro etc...I am impressed.
But the funny thing is I can only tell by the finds. I have to work harder mentally with the CZ and if you asked me which I was having better coverage with I'd say AT Pro or Tesoro...But the finds pouch does not lie. I have been finding better stuff with the CZ hands down & this week cemented my opinion. And I almost sold it due to its love for rusty bits...
