CZ5 COIL CABLE

BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO MY 1ST POST, SO I GUESS THIS IS IT! I JUST BOUGHT A GENTLY USED CZ5, AND I BELIEVE IT IS ONE OF THE
LATER MODELS, (PLASTIC COIL ARM,QUICKSILVER ON COIL) I MAY BE WRONG...BUT IN ANY CASE IT WORKS GREAT. I JUST DOWN LOADED
A MANUAL, AND WITH PRACTICE AND TIME, (AS WITH ALL DETECTORS) I LOOK FORWARD TO HUNTING AND FINDING GREAT THINGS. THE BEST
THAT CAN HAPPEN IS I FIND SOMETHING MY BROTHER-IN-LAW MISSES WITH HIS X-TERRA 70!!! JUST A RIB.
BUT NOW TO MY QUESTION. IS IT BETTER TO "COIL" THE EXCESS CABLE, OR TO "WRAP" THE SHAFT, OR DOES IT MATTER? ANY THOUGHTS?
ALSO, WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN A 5" COIL, AND A 5"DD COIL?

JUST FOR INFO, BEEN USING A WHITES 2500D FOR ABOUT 18 YEARS,(STILL WORKS GREAT), SO I GOT A LOT TO LEARN ABOUT THE NEWER
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES, AND WHAT MAY BE MY NEXT UNIT.

EVERYONE KEEP POSTING, AND I'LL KEEP READING. THANKS

I would think not as I have used wrapped around the rod and hipmounted with no wire wrapping and never saw any difference..Have heard discussions about Garretts getting better depth with no coiling but running cable straight up shaft but imagine not applicable. User friendly...but a couple of tips, swing slow and learn the bobbing method. Do expect better depth than your brother in law but he can cover more area as his unit is a faster unit..Good luck in your ventures...

Thanks, and I enjoy reading your posts.

Difference between concentric and DD types of coils is summarized pretty well on the Tesoro web page.

There aren't any DD coils made for the CZ series of detectors.

Enjoy your CZ!
