CZ5-10.5" coil

Can someone tell me how much depth the larger coil has over the 8" coil. Just want to know if it is worth getting. I hunt mainly the dry sand of the salt water beach. Thanks for your time, Cliff

You will certainly get more depth but certainly depends on a lot of aspects...The extreme coverage would be the selling point for me over the stock 8 for your hunting conditions...

The design of that elliptical receive, concentric send coil is unique, and although it can be a PITA to pinpoint with, it excels at finding coins on edge, and definitely gets more depth.

Albeit a bit on the heavy side, it's a great coil IMHO, second on the CZ line only to the 12.5" Sunray.

Cliff,

I"ve been an 8" coil person all my life...until I got a CZ6A. The main reason I have been an 8" coil fan is for the easy pinpointing. I don't like spending too much time in a hole. The 10.5" coil on the CZ pinpoints really great IMO. I was out with the CZ and the 10.5" coil today at a local park. Found an interesting "Expert Rifleman" medallion issued by the Navy at the park. All in all it was a great relaxing day with the CZ. I also use the CZ on the beach but find myself prefering the pulse for the beach mostly due to black sand issues. In normal sand I can get a little more depth with the CZ with the 10.5" coil but on the beach I just want to hunt, not mess with tuning, therefore I usually prefer the pulse with the 8" coil for beach hunting. I think you'll like the 10.5" coil on the CZ.

Like Dan said, for ground coverage the 10 1/2" coil is the one to use.
I have used the 8" coil on the beach but ever since I used the 10 1/2" coil
I never went back to the 8". Good hunting to you !

Not sure on a number for the increase in depth, but it ID's coins at depth much easier with that big coil, all other things equal. I gotta say the 8" coil has excellent depth and separation but the additional ability to punch just a little deeper can lead to awesome finds just out of reach of the other coil combos.

Depending upon how much trash is in your hunting area will be one factor in determining 8" vs 10.5"
I used to hunt with the 5" hockey puck until I learned that I could do the same with the 8 in the trash.
The pin pointing and target separation is great with the 8" but not with the 10.5 in the high trash areas.
Regarding coin i.d., the 8" is as accurate at its pique depth as the 10.5" is. ( Relative to one another )
I have dug dimes from around 10-12" with the 8" on the CZ without any mistake as to what it was.
Sometimes they bounce a little when they are that deep but, they will also sometimes bounce with the 10.5".
Dan is right about the extra depth you'll get with the 10.5", maybe another inch or just over depending on the soil, moisture, emi etc.
You will cover more ground with the 10.5" but if you're fiddling around because of poor target separation then the extra coverage means nothing as you are bogged down with chasing the target(s)
The 8" because of its target separation ability can sometimes be slightly more forgiving on targets that are masked or partially masked by iron.
This is not 100% true in all conditions or at extreme depths but on a dime at 6" being concealed by a square nail, I much prefer to use the 8 and see it versus move past because it was only picking up iron with the 10.5. This changes as the target depth increases. It becomes hard for both coils to unmask items that are extremely deep.
It some times pay off to double check the iron by changing your sweep angle to the target to catch that other tone.
