Hello all,

Retired Navy here. I bought a predator III about 5 years ago. Used it couple times, didnt find anything. Put it in closet and forgot about it. Until couple weeks ago and one of my kids asked me if I still had a metal detector. They asked to borrow it but never came to pick it up. So I started using it again. Decided I needed something better. So I did some research and found a used CZ3D online. I bought it but it had problems so I got a refund. It did seem to work for a little while before it started chirping like it was talking to E.T. Didnt matter which way I pointed it or held it. Just wouldnt quit.

Now I would like to find another one. I have $500-600. I noticed someone mentioned there are different serial numbers. Something I didnt know before I bought last one. Is this really important? Does anyone know where I might pick up a used one?

Oh, I live in Pensacola Fl. Its like living in Alabama with a ocean. lol

Any Pensacola(panhandle) hunters out there?

Thanks,
Ken

Sounds like you had a bad coil or perhaps ran the sens. over 4-5 ...in any case thats water over the dam...Nasa Tom has his own forum and they claim early CZ3D's are more likely to be properly tuned but buying used is one thing and buying new with a 5 year warranty is another...Sorry don't know the number sequence but imagine contacting Nasa Tom or getting the info from a forum member who wishes to chime in sounds like a plan to me...

Ken, The serial No.s you are referring to are the 1020 and 1021 series, meaning the serial No. begins with those 4 no.s. Also I am including a couple web links for you to read very good reading for 3D users.

I think the 1121 serial numbers were supposed to be good too. I know the one I have sure is. Deep and accurate........;)
