CZ3D or F70/75 for relic hunting

What machine in your opinion can handle" hot" Virginia soil(Culpeper),uneven terrain,(plowed fields)? How about low conductive targets(bullets, buttons) better? I am a hardcore salt water hunter, and my CZ21 is my go to machine.I tried the CZ21 in Culpeper VA,( I know it's locked in salt mode) and it didn't work too well. I tried a T2,and it did very well. The reason I ask is,most of my weekly hunting is in low/no mineral Florida.I have used a CZ70 on the beach, and in the very shallow surf(chest mounted/bag over meter) and it does great.I could use the CZ3d on the beach, if my CZ21 dies.I only do organized VA relic hunts once or twice a year.Thanks.

I'd go with a Teknetics G2 or a T2SE for hot ground, for mild soil a CZ3D will hold its own with the 5&15khz frequencies if you plan on hunting relics, coins,& jewelry a CZ would be my choice. Digger70pa uses his CZ3D to relic hunt and he gets some very nice relics with it but I don't know if his ground is as hot as the Virginia dirt though. I know a ton of people buy another brand that is designed to handle that hot dirt but I just can't see paying the price they get for them if I only hunt that area once a year.

Between your choices...use the detectors designed for the task...F70/75 for relics...CZ3D for coins and jewelry...

I cant help you out about Virginia dirt but I have hunted some highly mineralized ground in the Cumberland Valley. Red clay dirt that I couldn't fast grab my T2 in. My CZ handles it like a champ. I run into this on hill tops. I haven't ran into any place where I couldn't use my CZ's. HH TIM

Be safe get both.

I like the be safe comment. I love my CZs but the F70 is a featherweight and does a very good job. Sometimes the Fs have trouble with EMI so a good CZ hanging around is a bonus. Let us know what you decide.

Thanks for all of the reply's.My F4 scored a beautiful diamond ring this morning,at the local volleyball court. The sale of that will go in my "next machine think tank fund" I love CZ's, but they don't i.d. in all metal for relic hunting. The T2/F70/75's are great relic machines, but don't do as well on wet salt beaches,as the CZ's with salt mode. I have started looking into the coinstrike wich has salt mode, and i.d. in all metal. It is also chest mountable. The problem with that is getting one with a good coil, the coinstrike learning curve, and future Fisher serviceability issues. So many choices...... The(kind of) good thing is I have plenty of time to decide.I didn't even make it as an alternate,at the next Diggin in Virginia hunt. My gut is leaning to an F70,orT2se. Thanks again.

Don't have a prayer what your ground is like to start with..
Usually F series handles bad ground better but expect EMI, CZ is a depth demon that excells for deep coin and jewelry hunting and as a plus is one of the best saltwater units around. Coinstrike is sort of a different animal with a different type of learning period and has an affinity for round rusty objects and call them high coins on the meter
and is surely underated...Perhaps a visit to a local multiline dealer in your area or a visit to your local metal detecting club will steer you in the right direction but well learned all are capable units. Perhaps a local hunter is a forum member can give you some hands on info...and well glad I don't hunt in your area ought to cover it....

I've been going to DIV since XIII. The main VLF's that score there are the MXT and F75 but there are others being used. Slide over to the DIV forum and ask the same question. There is a ton of information from the people very familiar with Culpeper.
