CZ3D in laymans terms....

Set your disc. where you want it keeping in mind even at high disc. you lose liitle or no depth one of the few units I know of that has this capability...In advanced mode dig the high tones which are nickle, Star Zinc facet, and the last coins all facet. Doing this you will pick up all silver coins, 3 cent pieces, 1/2 dime, 2 cent piece, large cent and other oddball coins, tokens and lets not forget the gold coins as I feel you would get the majority of them perhaps missing the 21/2 dollar one which should hit low tab..remember this is only for old places and older nickles and will also pick up Buffalo, Shield and V which may come up as foil on conventional CZ's
Now when you are hunting newer areas flip the switch to the left and you basically have a standard CZ which will pick up the jefferson nickle and all the standard facets.
Reading the forums it seems many misunderstand its two units in one and basically in advanced mode you dig more to find more so expect junk in the Star facet..
Hope this helps as its a deep unit seems to handle iron better than older CZ's and above all will excell in older areas for those fellows that walk over many good coins and with a flip of the switch you have a conventonal CZ which excells in newer areas...Nasa Tom certainly had some good ideas in this unit and has written some good info, but I tried to break it down to laymans terms for those having trouble understanding the concept,,,

I always hunt in enhanced mode. I mostly just hunt places like schools and parks so it seems to work for me. I am still able to pick up quite a few newer nickels and also the older ones. You are right about the discrimination. Even with mine set on 4 it does not seem to lose any depth. I have an explorer on the way and I hope I am not disappointed in its performance compared to the 3D. The 3D will be hard to beat.......
