CZ3D Gold Question

Fisher-Man59

New member
Hi, just wondering what meter readings are other CZ3D users getting on gold rings ,and other small gold items? I have only ever found 1 gold ring, "a very large class ring" and it metered in the zinc-salt area on the meter. Wondering if I am passing over a few, since I usually only dig high tones. Thanks

Yes, the odds say you have almost surely passed up gold rings digging only high tones. But...
.
From the numbers I've seen, between `the zinc, foil and nickel ranges, you get about half the gold rings. If you are only digging high tones in the 3d enhanced mode, you'll be getting a good chunk of that half but not all since the lower end of foil and the upper end of the nickel range don't hit in high tone in enhanced mode.

Only you can decide what your level of patience is. And what the probability of gold is where you are detecting. A typical front yard is going to have a lot lower gold probability than a tot lot which is going to have a lot lower gold probability than a beach.

No but I believe Fisher did but it was for the conventional CZ not the 3D model...I believe foil area covered over a third of gold rings...

I dug 100 foil signals one day 10 were gold. Always in the foil range. I don't own a cz anymore but it's a amazing detector. Nothing touches it on nickels. Or copper pennies as it's easy to not dig the stupid crusty zinc's.

I only dig a couple gold rings and they were both in Foil range. Never dug a Ring in Nickel Range.
