Well im going on my 2nd year with my cz3d, I absolutely dread sending it in for repairs. My machine will not accept headphones. so theres a loose wire someplace. it goes quiet, but nothing comes out of any of the 4 pairs i tried. Which sucks, because i like to cover up that speaker vent to keep dust, dirt and sweat out of it when hunting. Ive also noticed disappearing signals, get a nice coin whisper hit 6 inches down, pull out a 4 or 5 inch plug, and then its gone!....sens on 3or 4, disc on 0 or 1, it also falses on tiny foil just below the surface, ... I find myself always double checking in salt, and re-ground balancing, but theres never any difference.
Heres a story, had a deep coin hit next to a big tree, dug out a big plug to the point where i just needed to clear around some deep tree roots, went over the plug and the hole with my coil again, but it totally vanished!!..so i went over the whole area, squashed the plug, dug around the roots a little and poked around with my vibraprobe, but nothing! it was gone....
so I scooped up the dirt and thru it back in the hole, scanned the area once more,... mumbled something to myself and continued on.......20 mins later Ive hunted my way back to this tree...same tree, same area, same hole...blink, blink, blink, theres that deep coin hit again, but its stronger, now why is that? did I drop something out of my pocket? just what the heck is going on here?...so here i am again, scooping dirt out and clearing away at the same roots, and there it was, about 9 inches down. A very nice Calvin Coolidge Cracker Jack token. now question # 1, where the heck did my first signal go? I know the best settings for this machine and how fast to move my coil, but this signal should not have disappeared the first time, they usually get stronger when you remove some dirt.
I don't know, I just found it strange that it would do that, don't get me wrong its a great machine that i would never part with, but id hate to be covering good coins back up for someone else to find, Just wondering if anyone else had the same experience because i cant figure it out, were the roots masking it? i don't know,
was it my coils angle going around the roots that made me miss it? from the strength of the signal the 2nd time i really don't know how it could have disappeared,
thanks
