I was just wandering how much more depth I could expect if I got a 10,5 inch coil instead of the standard 8. Anybody know? My CZ gets about 10 inches air test on a dime and it is a newer one.
dirtmaster, I don't have a CZ3D, but I do have a CZ5 and with the 10 1/2 inch coil I get a solid 2 more inches depth over the stock 8 inch coil. The main advantage of the 10 1/2" coil is more coverage in larger areas, but it does do a good job on deep coins on edge.
You might want to look at the 5 inch coil if you don't already have one. It is as deep as the stock coil and is a coin killer in the trash. I could live without the large coil, but the 5 inch coil is a must have for the trashy areas..
I bought a 10.5" for my CZ3D, I've only used it for about 10-12 hrs, didn't see a big depth increase(yet), maybe 1-1 1/2". It is not a good coil for even moderate trashy areas, I go back to the 8" for that, much better seperation. . It does have a nice big foot print for the beach, which was my main reason for getting the 10.5".
Depends on the type of soil you are in. Average is 1 to 2" increase. The biggest thing you will notice is the extra weight. Will give you a good workout swinging it.
