CZ21 on Land?

Anyone use their CZ21 for land hunting? Thinking about trying it against my Ex2.

I've used my CZ-20 for land hunting; mainly when it is raining and I just have to get out. It is not as good at unmasking targets in dense trash as some of my other land specific detectors, so I mainly use the CZ at the beach. It will do the job and do it well.

Thanks, I think I'll spend a few hours land detecting with it and compare against the Ex2. Seems like it should do ok.

It will work on land BUT I am not sure why you choose to use it on land if you have a land detector. Its heavy, it doesn't tell you a lot about the target compared to land detectors, and it won't hit tiny gold like land detectors.

All good points. Mainly just looking to get familiar with the unit until I can get back to the water with it. Considering you have both the Excal2 and cz21 I'm curious which you prefer or is it like golf clubs having advantages in certain situations?

Gotcha that makes sense. Definitely get the adjustment on ebay so it balances better.

I like both of them for different reasons. On the beach I prefer the Excal and in the water I prefer the CZ21. The excal tones tell me a lot more about the target which is really useful on the dry sand because its easier to ignore bottle caps and other junk but not so much on the wet because I dig everything but iron there. In the water the CZ is just so smooth and I don't worry about it leaking. Depth wise I think they are the same. I air test each of them at exactly 13'' on a quarter. But in the water I can keep my CZ sensitivity up so much more than the excal that I feel its deeper in the water but I have never tested that to confirm. Now if the excal is modded with different headphones it will go deeper in all environments but stock they are exactly the same. The CTX that I have is deeper than both on the beach because I have a 17'' coil on it...

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. I'm looking forward to getting familiar with The CZ21.

Up here in Canada we have one and two dollar coins and our clad is all zinc/steel. The CZ21
hits them so hard that you know exactly when they are under the coil. I cleaned out a small
local fair-grounds; took 12 dollars in clad and 8 one dollar coins. Some were 8-10 inches deep in soft sandy soil.
In heavier rain i like to get my rain gear on and spend the day with the CZ21.
