CZ21-10 on ANDERSON SHORT STRAIGHT SHAFT AND your's truly!

Well, here is the finished, newest weapon in my arsenal. I have only hunted it about 20 hours, but the stock configuration was bulky and poorly balanced and ya'll know how I feel about hip mounting any weapon of mine! IT AIN'T HAPNIN'! What we have here is a CZ21-10, on a black Anderson Short Shaft, with the Anderson heavy duty lower rod. I drilled through the push pin holes and installed 2 stainless bolts, washers and locking nuts, for extra rigidity. I also removed the push pins, from the control housing mount plate and installed the stainless bolts, washers and nuts there too. It is ROCK SOLID and extremely well balanced now. The only thing I don't like, is the control housing face is upside down, under the cuff and I can't look down and see the knobs, but I figure that I will get used to that part. FINE LOOKING UNIT, AIN'T IT! Gitcha one mates!

I love how it came out, black and all! Locking cam? OH, you mean the joint screw, between the lower and upper shaft? Stripped 1st time I torqued it! Never seen one of those things that was worth a hoot anyway! Huntress does not even have one on the 800 and it is just fine! Kinda a decoration thing, more than functionality. The push-pins are always worthless and if you rely on them, then things will eventually get all loose and sloppy. That is why I remove all push-pins and install stainless wherever possible. REALLY firms the shaft up and reduces fatique too, because there is NO flex in the shaft, savvy?

My excal is already straight shaft but my Tesoros aren't (Tiger shark just came back from the factory, recalibrated and new coil.). I will defenatly use the straight shaft configuration. It's simply easy to use on long periods and it helps get a better coverage since the coil stays on the ground at the end of the course. With the regular shaft, the coil tends to go up on it's side.
Me too wont use the hip mount anymore... too many problems with bad connections and wire fatigue.

Looks pretty cool GH! I'm still puffing along with my old CZ20, but I'm so used to it now that I hate to change and it's still a solid beast :)

I hope you have lots of luck with the CZ21. If I find as much as I plan on finding this season, I may be in the market for one of those - I was going to upgrade to something last year, but finances just didn't work out as I had planned.

Keep hunting and I look forward to your finds.

Cubfan, I wouldn't get in too bigga hurry to upgrade, as a revised pinpoint button and sealing gaskets are the only revisions I'm aware of. A friend of mine, who is intimately familiar with the CZ20-8 & 10, recently purchased a CZ21-8 and could tell no difference in performance from his CZ20-8. It's still good stuff and I intend to see what I've been missing. I should be a great deal more familiar with the unit, after about 100 hours. 80 to go! Should have it done by the end of March, we'll see.

Hey Martin, glad to hear the Tiger is back, maybe you can show us some gold chains! You did SO well using the Excal last season though, it's going to be hard to beat! Anderson has a real nice set-up for the Tiger and Pete was VERY helpful over there and was VERY patient with me and answered all my questions and believe me, I had plenty! Be sure to order the heavy duty lower shaft too, it's GREAT! I think you will love the set-up and they are in Canada too!

Bda, you too can own such a fine thread and you can shop, where I shop! Most all my black wears come from here mate....http://www.piratescoveonline.com/Pirate-Clothing.htm

That's funny that http://www.piratescoveonline.com/Pirate-Clothing.htm store is 4 block away from where I beach hunt after work, will have to go check it out in person.
