CZ20 vs Excalibur Today?

I know this has been done before. But both machines have been out a long time now and both work well in saltwater. Since the CZ20 is out of production now, I am thinking about purchasing one new while I can. I have mainly used Excaliburs and know what they are all about. I have also used Fishers, but never a CZ20. I called Fisher and they told me that a replacement for the CZ20 was NOT around the corner.

I realize and understand the differences between the CZ20 and Excalibur. I have mixed feelings about both technologies. Armchair wise, some of the CZ20 features sound good- like 3 distinct tones, built like a tank...

So, take both machines with 8 inch coils side by side on and in a saltwater beach. Which is more stable? Goes deeper? Which more sensitive to gold? Forget the price. Set aside their technology differences. Forget durability. Which is the better machine? Which will find more good stuff? One has to be better than the other in a no-spin test. IE: Side by side, one will detect same target deeper than the other. One more sensitive to a gold ring. One covers more ground ... Like 2 fighters in the ring, one will come out the Victor. Or is it a draw? Who owns both and what say you? Be fair. Do not just pick one over the other because you own it. Thanks CC.

I think the Excal will have an edge in gold sensitivity under ideal conditions. The CZ-20 is less sensitive to interference and wet seaweed.

I happen to like both and you can't go wrong with getting a new CZ-20 with its life time warranty.
