Last couple of hunts.
Got out with some friends @ GGP, and found this Victorian sterling silver shaker top marked "STERLING 925/1000" and a tiny mystery button (any ideas on the button?):
Found this condition challenged silver thimble last weekend, she's not pretty, but she's old:
Fourth trip out and fourth time finding silver, even if it's not silver coins
Got out again with some friends and hunted various parks. Although my silver streak ended on this trip, two 1900 Barber dimes, a Mercury dime, and small gold earring were found by the guy using the CZ3D.
I started out with my Omega and hunted for a couple of hours with it, then switched to my CZ70 Started getting deeper hits, but only turned up a turf toasted wheat. Another Omega user got a Buffalo. Then we moved to a spot that was originally an old brick factory, but now it's a small dog walking park with a lawn. Started hunting it and finding coins (lots of quarters), and more coins, but nothing old, started off with a couple of 5" deep 1960's memorials. Then making my way around the park, I got a 1940's wheat at 5", then I got a nice nickel bouncer at 5", but it sounded solid. I dug and at 5" this gold signet ring pops out
I quickly looked at it and stashed it in my pocket. Definitely my best find of the day, as the rest was a pocket full of clad and a tiny silver (colored I believe) charm. I hunted a while longer, thinking this was a good place for jewelery drops with folks running around, playing ball, Frisbee, fetch, etc. with their dogs (in an expensive neighborhood to boot). Try as we may, no further jewelery was found at the park but a 1950's rosie silver dime was found with a F75.
The ring is marked 10K and weighs in at 6 grams. Looks to be an older ring, or at least older style
Loving the CZ70

Brian
