Can anyone give me a quick run-down on how to take apart one of these cases? Can't figure it out!

Be careful as you will ruin the rubbers especially on the 1280 and perhaps the model CZ you are working on...making them non water resistant....

It's true you never figure out the brittle plastics and things on these detectors until it's to late.

Taking it apart is very easy. Putting it back together so it is waterproof is probably impossible. In the battery compartment under the rubber is 4 screws. That will get the unit apart.
