Well I sent my CZ-20 in on February 10th to be repaired. I've had a lot of problems since then with not getting current status updates. I've been told since it has been discontinued I have to wait for parts. I've been told that they will have to replace certain items such as the faceplate with a newer one. I've been told it will take 2-3 weeks. I've been told they will water test it on the 20th. I've been told they will (maybe) send it back to me on the 23rd. Still NOTHING! I am thinking about buying a new water detector and just using this one as a back up - if and when I get it back - but.... with this kind of service I doubt very much that it will be another CZ and definitely NOT a Fisher machine! Talk about a disgruntled customer!

Mumszie...is it a machine under the life time warranty ? I thought any CZ20 under that warranty that needed service would be swapped out for a CZ21. The waiting for parts thing is puzzling since I assume they have them for the CZ21's.

On a CZ20 and parts even before the change over of companies..Seems like CZ20's parts are in short supply and understand thats why the CZ21 emerged. Seems like CZ digital land units may be the same problem. In retrospect have had wonderful service in their new F series and how in the world does Tesoro have parts for 25 year old units?...

Great question Dan. I don't want to even think what is going to happen when (hopefully never) my CZ6a needs service.

Hope your CZ20 comes home with a lot of new life in it. Mike Scott had posted a while ago (but after the First Texas acquisition of Fisher) about some CZ20 repair policy things that sounded very reasonable. I hope your experience is not the normal. So far my CZ20 is still acting well. I did a quick land checkout two weekends ago and hope to be near water the first weekend in April.

The Fedex truck stopped at my house this afternoon and I was jumping up and down. Oh happy HAPPY DAY! It's here it's here it's here! I was so happy! I put it together all the while trying to figure out in my mind when I could take it out and find some GOLD! I have several doctor appointments for both my husband and myself so I was really trying to figure out a way to take it out. I need not have bothered! All put together and nothing. I mean NOTHING! No sound, won't turn on NOTHING! Now I'm almost crying with frustration. I got on the phone right away and called Felix in Texas and told him, he transfered me to the tech (Daniel). He said well, not much we can do about it - send it back in. WHAT! I have to send it back in? I asked him was there anywhere else I could take it here in Florida. I would drive darn near anywhere to have it checked out. He said no, I have to send it back to Texas. I said you guys have had this machine for almost 2 months already. How long will it take this time. He said he didn't know. I said I have a big hunt coming up the first week of April and I really needed it for that. He said well he was sorry but I would have to send it in and he doesn't know how long it will take! I am so darn frustrated about this and I just told my husband that if it does not come back working next time - I am going to take them to see Judge Judy! So much for a lifetime garantee! Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

You know I really am not getting much help with the regular customer service or the techs. I wish I knew how to contact the head of the company. So if anyone knows what his name is and where to send a letter or email....... I sure would like to know. I am STILL considering Judge Judy! LOL That would go national!

And tell him I recommended you call him. I have two CZ20's and can sympathize with your frustration.
