Cz coil on a troy x5?

Hello, I have a question that might sound crazy but here goes I have a Cz6a (been a CZ user for years) and just got a Troy shadow x5 last week. The Troy is designed by Troy Galloway and built by Fisher which most of you know. a lot of the parts used for the x5 are the same as the CZ's as is the coil connectors both 5 pin identical what would happen if I connected the 8" CZ coil to the x5, would it work, or damage the x5 or CZ coil? What you all say should I try it or not?

If pins are the same for Transceiver and Receive coils it can work badly or not work at all, if pins not the same its absolutely not work. Just try once and lets us know, I suspect it should not damage detector, but who knows? But before you can play with tester to know something about coils difference.

Many companies use the same connectors doesn't mean coils are compatible.
You can learn more about coils at the Geotech Forum.

Well. I'm interested in if it worked or not. I wanted to throw in thsat I recently did same thing along the same line. i installed a 12x10'' SEF coil designed for a tesoro Cibola, Tejon, 4pin . onto my Detectorpro landpro. and all that was needed was some tweaking of the pots. Works like a champ. No issues.

I will be interested on your finding regarding this coil question,i have a Troy X3 with the 7'' and 10x6 coils but the one that i am really after and that is the 5'' coil, these are rarer than 'Rocking Horse manure' in the UK and as yet cannot locate one,but if i can use say one of the other Fisher 5'' coils that would be a massive bonus.
