CZ Advice:

Hi to all my CZ Guru's, I need some more advice on my CZ-70Pro! I've been doing alot of park hunting lately, and all the trash is killing me!! I hunt with nothing NOTCHED OUT, Sensitivity at 4 or 6, depending on ground conditions; Bobbing-GB. My display is iding alot of trash in the coin ID Icon.
I'm getting alot of flattened out screw-caps, and alot of what I believe to be earlier zinc pennies.
Can any of you experienced CZ Users, give me some suggestions, that will be helpful!! HH, NamVetLesTreasureSeeker

I have been using the cz70Pro for a few years now and have seen the same thing you mention with certain types and sizes of aluminum junk reading in the zinc and coin area of id.
I use the 5 inch coil and go slow and have a certain amount of success in target separting the junk from the good stuff. Other wise the stock coil just hits on the junk more readily ( mostly can slaw and other type of aluminum stuff)
I can also get better target separation if I reduce the senstivity way down , even to zero at times and it really separates with the 5 inch coil as most of the junk isn't so deep.
Hope this helps.
I don't think your having unusual problems just a lot of junk where your detecting. ( unless your id'ing pulltabs and such as coins).

Most parks are trashy and as Dan R. says the 5 inch coil and low sensitivity can help somewhat depending on your park..Personally when I hunt a park I take coins all, nickel and the hottest facet for gold rings foil..Just too darn many pulltabs in my area to try to grab a gold ring in these facets..With experience you will find those screw caps that come in coins all just cover a larger area and those pennies you refer to just radiate over a large area especially if really shallow. Many say no but a gold ring in the foil area just hits harder. All a matter of learning the language of your machine. If I hunted with all facets like you my CZ would sound like a machine gun so I try to make the best of the situation...Audio variances are prevalent in all machines it just takes time..

dont have a cz70 but i do have have a cz3d and ive been checking most of my iffy signals and have found two v nickels at a place i thought was hunted out. <img src="/metal/html/grin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":grin">

One wonders if a place is ever really hunted out as I have hunted one smaller yard for 6 years and every year pull at least one old coin. Of course signals are getting far and few between and one has to work at it..Getting back to choice of CZ's all a matter of personal preference and digital CZ's have the advantage as the superior notching allows one to notch out a lot of trash in a newer park.CZ3D facets were modified to allow the nickel facet to accept older nickels such as a V and shield which due to mettalic composition come in lower than a new nickel and in the advanced mode hit nickel dead on while the same target may hit foil or a foil to nickel bounce on a CZ70. In either case any CZ model is a good choice.Yes those that go for iffies are sometimes pleasantly surprised especially in areas beat to death.

I guess you are in a real trashy area. I would get a small coil so you can pick out the coins. I don't don't dis anything so I don't lose targets that get masked by what I'm blocking. I hit the one sided hits also and find coins. I would make sure you ground balance on clean soil and bob the coil. I really make sure I ground balance and leace it a bit on the plus side. A hair on the plus side. I don't think any detector is going to do a better job then the 70 Pro I have tried them all and have learned to trust the Fisher line of detector's

MANY THANKS, both DAN's/Lawrenzo/Tony!! I really appreciate you taking the time. I think I'm going to have to find a 5" CZ Coil. HH, NamVetLesTreasureSeeker

If you like using your cz70Pro and really like to check out those tough places and work slow you won't be sorry to have the 5 inch coil. I now have the big 12 inch coil and the 5 inch coil and its usually either one is on the detector and I go slow with either one looking for real deep and good target separation just enjoy killing time doing some slow searches in hard hit places. Playing around with various senstivity settings and going back and forth between id and auto tune modes and still always learning responses. The cz is still a challenge for me and fun also and most of all very easy to use. I still depend on it to do checks after having fun with my Minelabs also. I consider the cz70Pro for me one of the all time greats as far as metal detectors I have used over many years.
