CZ-7a ?

Well I think I have a CZ addiction as I bought my third CZ,a CZ-7a. I always wanted one as they are so different and quirky than other CZ's with the 12 aa's and s rod and digital. When ever I saw one though they were either beat to death or over priced or both. Finally a true closet queen came around for the rite price only used a handful of times! Anyways I tested it and it works good in air test on a dime sense.6 disc. 0 at 11''.One thing I noticed is one side of the battery door comes all the way off instead of half like the other. Anyone have one with the same thing on their model CZ-7a? Also how do the the doors hold up after time as the whole detector sits on it? Any other plus or minus about this CZ model? It seems balanced well. I will take it out tomorrow as it is suppose to warm up a little. Thanks.

A little gaffer's tape and a cardboard shim fix 80 to 90 percent of battery problems. :wiggle:

2nd model of the digital CZ and has some years on it but although a tad heavier than reg model CZ's its the best balanced and most ergonomic CZ out there not to mention the batteries under the armcup last a long time. As most preferred a hipmount version was only made for a year or two so your lucky to find a nice one.
Been a while since I owned one but expect excellent depth and performance from this model. As far as the battery doors sometimes a little bend in them will keep them both secure and if not some put tape or velcro over them lest you lose one. PS; if you ever want to sell it you know where there is a buyer in myself and good luck with you new
unit....PS: unlike some of the later digital CZ models you can usually run it at a sens. of 6 but tough to get it to 8 in most cases....

Well I took it out for a quick spin and found a silver rosie and a merc. Both coins were about 7'' and on edge in a trashy area. The rosie had a nail in the hole with it. The Merc. was 2'' from a pull tab. I used the old pull tab coin trick that I'm sure you veteran hunters know about. I also found a wheatie in with a nail that gave a good 2 way hit and broken iron on the cross sweep ,But dug anyways as to see what it was and glad I did! I think this one of the best CZ's I have had in trash area's. I went over this little spot pretty good with my E-trac and CZ-3D so I was suprised to find what I did. This detector is a keeper!
