CZ-70 TUNE-UP

Boofer--(Va.)

New member
Does anyone have any contact info. for Mr. Keith Wills.
My son and I both use CZ-70's and son has a spare.
The spare has some issues(4th tone).
He wants to talk to Keith about this and see if he will tune it.
If he is unable to do it. We would appreciate any info. on anyone else ya'll think can do it.
I have seen a post about Keith not tuning CZ's any longer ?????
If necessary. My email is jvboofer@yahoo.com

Thanks & HH Boofer

Keith willis He still works on CZ-70's 903-734-7773 don't be surprised if he is 4-5 months behind, it took him 4 months to get to mine But he fixed it. HH:detecting:

The new Fisher has tech's and they have the instructions how to tune up along with proper tuning equipment so need I say more.....Give Fisher a call my friend as thats why they have repair facilities...

That machine had some problems and was sent to Fisher around 3 maybe 4 years ago.
When it came back my son checked it out and the problems had been fixed.
He put it back in the hard case and we carry it as a spare machine.
A considerable amount of time passed. He took it out to compare some readings to the other Machines
and found that the 4th tone was missing. Enough time had gone by that he felt it was to late to complain.
He wants to get the 4th tone fixed and have it "tweaked" and tuned to the 10 1/2 inch coil.
In my opinion, A CZ-70 and the 10 1/2 inch coil is a great combination.
Maybe the New Fisher can fix it right.
I will certainly pass your thoughts on to him.

Keith Wills does a great job but right now way behind and certainly nothing against him or anyone else who does outside service..Have dealth with the old and new Fisher with good results so naturally they would be my choice..Right now Fisher has the 5-8-10.5 for the CZ's and no retuning needing as all are interchangeable.
Seems like some other companies retuning coils especially widescan versus concentric but your good to go with any CZ coil available. In fact used the 12 inch Sun-Ray with no retuning so good luck wth your situation...and hope I have not offended anyone as was not my intention...just my choice for repairs..

You better Ask fisher what they charge if its not under warranty, Willis gets 89.00 per repair. A lot of people on this forum try to steer you away from mr willis he does great work, thats why he is so busy and reasonable. HH:detecting:

None taken!
All 3 machines belong to my son, so who fixes it will be his decision.
I knew he has had some issues with Fisher before.
Since I am retired, I was just doing the leg work.

I would be the above mentioned son. I have 3 CZ-70s with all coils (FZ-12 included). One for me, one for dad, & a spare in a fitted Fisher hard case. I love these machines, but as far as NEW Fisher service no luck personally. If they did a good job this post would not have started. First machine I sent them came back exactly as it left, sent it second time they fixed it (2 shipping charges for me warranty covered work). Second machine I sent them (No warranty $125.00 + shipping) is the above mention, they fixed problem but it came back a CZ-7 no 4th tone. I wish I could send it to Fisher but my luck with them has been terrible. That`s why my dad posted looking for a better place to have a CZ-70 repaired.
