CZ 70 SERIAL #`S

IS THERE REALLY A DIFFERENCE IN PERFORMANCE WITH DIFFERENT SERIAL #S? I HAVE 3 CZ 70S 2 HAVE 1029 & 1 HAS 1129.

HH, DARREN

Most not all 10292 machines can only be run at a sens of 4 whereas 6 it will false. Most 11292 machines can go to a 6 sens. and get an inch or two more depth while still stable and IDing properly.

Because I have 2 and they both seem equal but the first one I bought back in early 90's ( the other one I bought used) is a very hot unit that cannot be swung anything but VERY slowly with sensitivity over 4 or 5. It goes super deep when you get into the 8,9 10 range but will falseunless you really slow down.

The way I use this unit a lot is hunt in all metal and then switch over, slow down, and it will still ID very accurately at great depth.

Of course 2 identical CZ's may vary and feel the newest CZ's (CZ2D-CZ70) have different sens. parameters and much over 4 sens. they will false. Haven't seen this in earlier CZ's such as the CZ6A etc. which can be raised 5-6-7-8 without falsing..My advice if you feel your unit is not performing as it should call Fisher..Of course we can't blame this on the new Fisher Company as most CZ70's were made by the old Fisher and a good portion of the CZ3D's also..I wouldn't get all tied up with ser. numbers as I have used CZ's
from both the old and new Fisher and were depth demons..But again I believe the newest CZ's stated above do have different sens. parameters and will go as deep as older CZ's set at higher sens. parameters.
