CZ 70 Seeing a lot of them F/T on the classifieds. What's up with this, it's a great machine.

mainly just to try something new along the Minelab line since I've never tried one before and for me to try another detector, I really need to get rid of one, which is a hard thing since I like all the ones I have now.

But, I will mostlikely end up keeping it.

Basically feel the fellow just want to try one of the newer Fishers,or something else.. coil for coil as deep as any and user friendly to setup..Sort of like the kid in the candy store routine...and many never figure out the iron thing with CZ's....

Mike if you worry about selling it as much as you have lately then you probably shouldn`t.:sadwalk:If you sell the CZ70 having had all these doubts you will just start fretting over having sold it.:cry:You can always sell it later after trying out someone else`s latest sensation to see if its really all that good.:detecting:

Don't do it man! I have the CZ-70, the Excalibur, and the Explorer II. I love them all and each is special in it's own way.

I used to have the Sovereign Elite and that's the reason I got the Excalibur, because I loved the Sovereign and wanted the waterproof version. The Excal is now my main beach machine. The CZ-70 was my primary land machine. Tried the Quattro, liked it a lot and subsequently got the Explorer II for that reason. Now the Explorer II is my main land machine. But from time to time I still like to use my CZ and the CZ is the one machine to have as a backup, because it does both land and beach so well. The simplicity and raw performance of it make it the perfect "buddy" machine too, because you can have somebody "up and running" with it almost immediately AND actually FINDING stuff! And there's the lifetime warranty thing...gotta love that. And although I am a primary Minelab guy now, I will NEVER get rid of my CZ-70. Ever.

DO get a Minelab, but my advice is to either sell something else or save up for it. The CZ-70 is a definite "keeper".

a couple of months the same way I did the Coinstrike. I plan on keepin the CZ70, it's one of the best machines ever made and definately one of my favorites.

Yeah, and you could probably find another one too. But in a couple of months I think it will be hard to impossible to get a NEW one with a warranty card. I'm assuming you're the original owner. One of these days 20 years from now Fisher is going to be still servicing MY CZ-70. If it doesn't OUTLIVE ME!

Fisher just about discontinued the CZ line because cost and availability of parts so hope your statement is true. Lets hope you outlive the unit anyway as in 20 years one wonders what new detectors will look and a what abilitites will they have..Tesoro really amazes me as they have parts for really old units...

but I think the 70 will see a dramatic increase in used resale value just like the CZ5 has seen in the past 6 months, once the demand out weights the supply. CZ5's went from a resale value of $300-$350.00 depending on condition to $400-450.00.

selling of what I call stray detectors. You know, the ones that have passed from hand to hand within a short period of time until the point where no one really knows who the original owner was. If I buy or trade for a detector, I like for the person to know a little history of the detector, so I prefer the seller to either be the original owner or second owner.

Stolen detectors can & I would imagine are being sold, traded or swapped on the classieds & auction sites, hopefully not very often. But that is why I will call or take my newly aquired detector to my local police dept. and ask them to run the serial numbers on them, just in case. Fortunately I haven't had any come back as stolen, but if one does, I will most certainly be out the money, but better then being caught with stolen property & trying to explain who I got it from, when it could have passed from 5-6 hands before me.

Plus, if it were stolen, I would want it returned to the owner, which would be the right thing to do.

There are still 6 for sale on eBay right now, for the traditional price of $796. One guy with 1 and the other with 5 available...both reputable sources. I'm sure there are more, but at some point soon they will dry up. Glad I have one. And it's in mint shape, even though it has been used heavily. I take good care of my stuff.

Now have another with 3 coils and Sunray probe. Guess they are just a great detector in my stable of eight. To bad they discontinued them.
