I don't think there is a "recovery time", per say, because it would depend on the soil type, the coil type, the settings, and other factors. But having used the CZ-70, Whites DFX, Garrett Machines, and several Minelabs, I would say that it is better than most all of them in recovery speed. That said, CZ's DO like a slower swing speed to get the very deep targets. I think that you would be more likely to miss a deep one by swinging too FAST, not too SLOW. My test garden and experience in the field show this.
Also, I know that "different stroke for different folks" applies, but I have found that the best way to run the CZ-70 is to notch out nothing, listen to it all, and dig what you think sounds good. If the machine doesn't have to filter anything out you can swing it a little faster and also if you have iron notched in you will better be able to tell a deep coin from deep iron, because if you are consistently getting coin, iron, coin, iron on a target than it's probably a rusty nail, roof tack, or some other piece of junk. If you can get the good signal in at least two directions then you probably have a digger.
