CZ 70 Pro

I bought a CZ 70 pro last year to take to California to hunt beaches. I thought it was perfect, since the box was a quick disconnect and I could carry it on the plane and send the rest through my luggage. i only got to hunt two beaches and I had pretty good luck. I hit a nice heavy silver ring and a great 14kt band with diamonds. When I got home I put a new factory handle on the CZ and replaced the foam grip. In my mind, it was just setting there waiting for a beach trip. I know that this detector has a faithful following and I wondered about trying it for my inland coin hunting. I have a CZ 3 and an F75 LTD. I think I would enjoy trying the CZ 7 for my regular hunts. Do any of you have any thoughts?

It will excell for deep silver inland and the notch feature is very helpful in trashy parks along with the regular mode not locked in salt mode which should be better for gold jewelry.

Nothing against the CZ3D but used in the enhanced old area mode it excells but use this mode in the park enviroment and you will dig a lot of junk and in the reg mode its locked in salt mode which you may lose some sens. to gold jewelry and of course all you have is a linear disc. not the excellent notch and last but not least does not have the weather resistant features of the CZ70.
All in all you have the best of both worlds depending on where your hunting and both excell in a salt water enviroment..

As far as F series not my cup of tea even though they are light as I miss the tank like construction of a CZ and like a quiet CZ versus the noisy EMI if you wish to get depth with a F unit.
Again F series work well for many but thru actual field experiences a CZ would be my preference..

i know you know the CZs. I have asked your opinion a lot of times about various things. I will tell you for relaxing, fun hunting, I sometimes prefer the CZs steady, no nonsense approach. Have you ever played with remounting a CZ box on a different rod or configuring it somewhat differently to make the weight a little easier to handle? I used the CZ70 at the beach as a belt mount because the handle broke. That was ok, but I have been wondering about a different handle or mount that would help the CZ seem lighter or better balanced. I love the fact that you can pop the box off of the CZ70 and put it anywhere. I was just curious about the custom mount. I may play with the idea, but I thought maybe you would have a heads up on what approach to take. Thanks, for sharing your knowledge on the forum.

May be a way but every way I have seen the meter is not in a good place for viewing..For what it worth Fisher had made an excellent chest mount for CZ70 and great for beach with lighter detector in right hand and floral shovel-sand scoop in the left to drag to see where you have been and in this position control box is easily viewed and will not fall off. Will do some research as I know one outfit on the net sells them and well made and comfortable at a modest price...If I find will PM you the info....My pleasure sharing and now and then pick up some info myself so its a two way street..

the cz-70 pro is one of the "best" coin snipers of all time!..
i didn't like the "balance" of it when the control box was mounted on the rod!
i always hip-mounted mine,and it made a "huge" difference!.never could get "gain beyond "4"
but it didn't matter!..deep!..deep!..was pullin' dimes from 9 and 10 inches quite often...built very well, and
very accurate depth meter...will hunt with the big dogs easily!..just sayin!

Owned two CZ70 pro's and indeed after 4 sens. wise became noisy but went as deep as earlier CZ's in 6-7-8...input from other CZ70 owners said they could raise their sens. over 4 and have stable unit so imagine some CZ70's are either tuned differently or have different sens. parameters...In either case either are excellent deep units...

Ignoring all specific factors, its a great idea to go over familiar ground with a different MD. Of course it helps if it is a stronger unit, but I think the variations from machine to machine make it a wonderful idea every time. If it dosen't find good stuff, end the session and try elsewhere or pull another unit. I don't think it is ever a waste to retrace a time or two even with the same unit just to see what you missed or have improved you skills.
HH & may the force be with you, young Jedi!

I know one fellow that hunts an area with a CZ stock coil and then goes over area with a small and large coil and surprising at the results as what one coil won't find the other will...really cleans out an area..and imagine applicable to all detector units...Sort of 3 units in one aspect....I basically have used many units but usually stick with the stock coil but the above is sure worth a try..
