CZ 70 PRO REPLACEMENT FOAM GRIP ?

Cal_Cobra

My foam grip is worn out on my CZ70. I know I could order another one from FRL, but to be honest the grips are a bit whimpy to begin with (I believe I have one from my old C$ as I had to replace the handle and they sent the foam as well, which is the same as the CZ70).

I was thinking about one of those nicely padded bicycle rubber or foam grips, but I'm not sure it'll fit over the CZ70 handle.

Anyone have a good replacement grip setup they can share?

TIA,
Brian

That's not a bad idea. I could just wrap it over the existing foam grip for a little extra padding.

Thanks,
Brian

Heavy refrigeration pipe insulation works very well. Not the porous gray / black but the closed cell foam rubber type that is used in construction of super market freezers etc.
You can use contact cement to keep it in place and removal is easy.
If you need to remove the contact glue just use some acetone. You can reapply whenever needed. It's better then stock.
Plumbing AC / Refrigeration supply companies always have the stuff and you might even find it at Home Depot or Lowes.

Hey Brian,

I know what you mean regarding the cell foam grip. I dont like how hard it is to clean it especially when hunting in muddy conditions. Thats one of the really good ideas Whites has with my V3, the handle has a soft durable rubber sleeve on it, I stick it in the sink when I get home and it cleans right up. Seems to me that material could be purchased somewhere in bulk, and easily cut to size. I'll look into it and let you know what I find.
